Next Show : Humming Mad #8 : GLIMPSE (August 23rd, 2013)

After a very quiet month of Ramadhan, it's time to get back to the swing of things! We are playing a show on August 23rd. It's organized by our very good friends in We.Hum.Collective. What makes this show special? Two things : first, it has Tapestry and Fight Me Dragon who should quench your thirst for all 90's indie rock/emo. Second, IT'S A HOUSE SHOW! It will be the first house show in Jakarta that I will attend and play at, so i'm pretty psyched for it.

The show has good bands such as : Amukredam, Woodcabin and Wasted Boys Project from Bandung, Seems Like Yesterday, Ultra Enigma,Forever/Always and What The Sparrow Did To You. The last two bands i'm not too familiar with, so it should be fun checking them out.

The entry fee is Rp. 25.000. While it might seem a bit much for a local punk/DIY show, please keep in mind that We.Hum had to rent the house for the purpose of putting on the show and keeping our local scene alive and running. So please spare a bit of your work money for all these awesome bands that play for pretty much nothing.

Live performance of "Footsteps" at Humming Mad #6 : Havoc, Cafe 79 Kemang.

We would like thank We.Hum.Collective and everyone involved in making the show happened. Despite all the technical problems that happened during our set, and later Vaz's set as well, we'd like to think that we left that night with more awareness on the importance of being prepared not only mentally, but technically as well. It's a good wake-up call before we leave for Jogja in less than a week.  We were a bit rusty after hadn't been playing a show for about 6 months. The show also marked our new bassist, Gary's first performance with us.

This is a video of us performing "Footsteps", one of our "newer" songs that will be on our next EP, hopefully out sometime next year. We have been performing this song for a while now. There was a problem with the mic not being loud enough compared to the instruments so we did this without one. Vocals are barely audible and I had to scream louder than the usual.

Thanks to The Spikeweed, A City Sorrow Built, Depriver and of course Vaz. And much love to all our friends who were there for us.

Last Jakarta Show of 2012 : Humming Mad #6 : Havoc (Dec 11th)

We have an upcoming show on December 11th (Tuesday night)!!! It will be our last Jakarta show in 2012 before we leave for Jogjakarta in exactly two weeks. It's been almost half a year since our last show. And the reason behind that is because our previous bass player, Adit had to move back and forth between Jakarta and Borneo for his job, as well as having a family to take care of. We've been kinda quiet and just practising to make sure our current guy on bass, Gary is ready to play live shows. We are ready now.

So back to the show. The show is organized by the fine young gentlemen of We.Hum.Collective. I know it's been a pain in the ass trying to find a venue that doesn't charge an arm and a leg, so big props to them. VAZ from New York is playing. And I am personally very excited to see an Ampthetamine Reptile-related band playing right before my eyes. They sound very 90's to me. Grungy, loud guitars with occasional screeching, dissonants and complex time signature. Everything I love. Steve Albini would be proud.

We will be playing with A City Sorrow Built from Bali, Depriver and Spikeweed. It will be a fun show. We might try to play a couple of new songs. See you there!
