Next Show : JFCC Charity Jam at Akmani Hotel with Sore, Auman and Teenage Death Star (22/3/2014)

The JFCC Charity Jam has been made possible by a generous grant from the family of Timothy Mapes, a former Wall Street Journal correspondent who passed away at 42 in 2010 after a long battle with brain cancer. Our thanks go out to Glynn and Elizabeth Mapes, who felt that their son Tim, a former JFCC member and Indonesian music aficionado, would enjoy having an annual event held in his honor.

Obviously we are very excited (and nervous) to play this gig. We will play first at 8 PM sharp. It will be our longest set yet. We are also very keen to witness the performances of other bands who are wayyy tighter than us, especially Auman from Palembang.

See you there!

We are in Jakarta Globe's ''Local Bands to Watch in 2014" List

"With constant gigs around the city, it isn’t like Vague is an unknown entity.

Yet the post-hardcore trio deserves a shoutout for standing out within a crowded music landscape filled with bands that almost sound synonymous. Instead of basing their aesthetic around the dreary hollow drone of their peers, Vague’s emotions feel personal, delivered with a ferocious passion that affects without resorting to teenage drama.

Their sound will remind older music fans of old-school post-hardcore acts like Planes Mistaken for Stars and Jets to Brazil (as well as the inevitable Fugazi comparison), but Vague is about breaking things down even more, down to hardcore’s very, well, core.

Their songs send emotions straight to your gut. Next year will see their first actual record (as opposed to digital EPs), ensuring even more stages will experience the power that is Vague."

That's what the article says. Some interesting descriptions there. I've never heard some of those comparisons before. Anyway, the list probably doesn't mean a lot but it's very cool to be lumped in with other talented bands/artists. Other band that 2/3 Vague members are in, Jirapah is also in the list. Our friends, Polka Wars, Barefood and Space System are also in it.
