Revolution Autumn is a compilation of local bands -all Indonesian- who are considered to be somewhat influenced by the "emotional hardcore/post-hardcore/screamo (ugh hate that term)" sound. The name of the compilation is an obvious homage to the "Revolution Summer" movement that started in Washington DC in 1985. Since then the sound has slowly, but surely spread across the states, and eventually other parts of the world.
I like to think this compilation as simply a mark. A mark that Indonesia are aware and appreciative of this type of music, even though it's still quite obscure in the larger picture of the local music scene. Our neighbours, such as Malaysia, Singapore and even Philippines have been churning out bands playing this style of music since as far as mid 2000's (maybe even earlier?). Let's see how it will develop in Indonesia; only time will tell.
