Finally! We can happily say that our first "official" release is out! Vague EP is out on Tsefula/Tsefuelha Records through arguably the best netlabel Indonesian has right now, Yogjakarta-based Yes No Wave. For those of you who are still unfamiliar with Tsefula/Tsefuelha Records, i would suggest you to check them out. They have released music from artists such as Jirapah, Rayhan Sudrajat, Shorthand Phonetics, Papa Onta Cult and many more.
Vague EP has three songs on it, and they are the same songs that are on our demo. The difference is that we actually re-recorded those songs (and changed some parts here and there) and had it mixed and mastered 'properly'. It was recorded live with the vocals taken separately afterwards.
I think the EP came out pretty good considering our lack of experience in recording. The vocals come through better, the drums are tighter and the bass has more character. The songs are the same, but the sound is a lot different. It's less raw and sloppy, but at the same time it has this dark lo-fi thing going on which i dig. Anyway, if you have listened to the EP, i hope you like it as much as the demo, if not more.
We would like to say heaps of thanks to Ababil Ashari of Shorthand Phonetics fame for taking his time to turn the EP into what it is. Also massive thanks to Akhmad Alfan Rahadi who has never stopped believing in Vague and having more faith in us more than we do.
Also to friends and acquaintances who have come to our shows, downloaded our demo, gave us feedback or comments, or simply being supportive and awesome, thank you all! You know who you are.
